This is a work in progress. The chapters for this book, offered here individually as they become ready, will provide a summary and a discussion guide for each chapter of the Holy See's Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church. The Chapters will appear first and the discussion guides will appear after all the chapters are complete.
The Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church is the most comprehensive authoritative review of contemporary Catholic Social Teaching. An enormous work of 525 pages in its official English edition, it is a veritable goldmine of wisdom that draws on the biblical, theological, and philosophical dimensions of Catholic Social Teaching. It needs to become a core work in the intellectual and spiritual formation of committed Catholics.
Our new Study Guide, to be used hand-in-hand with the full text of the Compendium, makes the larger work more accessible and intelligible. It also provides a way to bring together small groups to study the Compendium as a community.
