Carrying an illness that first appeared last July and continuing with the aid of strong medications, Patricio still worked tirelessly on behalf of our movement.
Finally on 17 November 2005 in his home city of Montevideo, Uruguay,he returned home to the warm embrace of our loving God
In the name of the directors, members, and friends of Pax Romana/Cmica-usa, I send our deepest sympathy to Patricio's wife Cristina, to their son Miguel, and to all Patricio's and Cristina's grandchildren and extended family.
We have lost an extraordinary leader whom will miss so sadly miss.We rejoice, however, that our movement will now have one more saint, who will be protecting us as we continue his visionary work.
Patricio was such a truly great Catholic-Christian international lay leader that only the following words of Jesus can do justice to his life.
How happy are the poor in spirit:
theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Happy the gentle:
they shall inherit the earth for their heritage.
Happy those who mourn:
they shall be comforted.
Happy those who hunger and thirst for what is right:
they shall be satisfied.
Happy the merciful:
they shall have mercy shown them.
Happy the pure in heart:
they shall see God.
Happy the peacemakers:
they shall be called children of God.
Happy those who are persecuted in the cause of right:
theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
