Catholic Professionals in Zimbabwe have embarked on initiatives to assist underprivileged children by paying school fees and engaging poor schools in different communities. The CPNZ will role out its programme starting with Mavhaire Primary school in Chirumanzu on 30 March 2019. Due to the economic downturn experienced at the macro level since about the turn of the millennium, the school has not been spared from economic challenges. Its coping and resilience capacities in terms of acquisition of learners’ materials, relevant capital expenditure and related knowledge and education investment have been adversely affected.

It is against this backdrop that Catholic Professionals Network of Zimbabwe (CPNZ) has identified Mavhaire Primary School for partnership in its community engagement activities as part of its evangelization efforts. CPNZ would like to provide the necessary sports equipment, stationary and other requirements to the school. This will be done through a fun run and other activities. Proposed awards for children include, stationary, uniforms and school fees while adults stand to win shields, crop seeds, fertilizers, cash and outing vouchers. Other benefits include free medical consultation and treatment and career guidance. All Chirumanzu residence and those from surrounding areas are invited for the fun run.
